And the sudden lack of Cu or Cormac.

[She’s not seen Shay talk about politics in a while, about how he thinks all the world’s problems can be solved if you just put the right man with the right ideals in charge of the whole mess. Nor has she heard anything from Cu or Homura.

She can only hope they died without regrets, believing in their cause till the end. She might not agree with them, but there’s a valor in holding on to even their own misguided beliefs until their last breaths.]

Hm. And has needling someone worked out for you yet? [munch munch.] I think you still can, there’s still time before rush hour.

[ Childe wasn't too close to them in particular; though he had been itching for like a real good spar with Cu, so it'll be a shame if he's gonna miss out. As for the others, he plain doesn't quite care about them either.

Which sounds cold but that is just how he is, and next his mind is wondering about how many people he'll be able to fight when he arrives. As for his response, he speaks very matter-of-factly: ]

Usually it works out. Even the calmer ones eventually cave in; people usually feel like it'll be worth it at least once to try to put me in my place or get me to shut up. I guess you're the exception—for now. [ She's no different from the others he's needled; he thinks he'll get her to give in eventually. ] Hmm, I guess. Childe's fight-happy ways are familiar to Acheron, although she herself doesn't entirely understand it. If that's how he finds meaning in his life, she's not about to tell him to find another meaning—everyone makes their own purpose, and if this is how he lives without regrets, then she's not about to judge.

She shrugs.]

For now. Who knows what the future holds. [But she'd rather put it off for now.] In the meantime, I can share. I have enough to last a while.

Anyway, as for Childe, he's hoping his future holds a lot of challenges. It's the only way he can get stronger. He's willing to continue to do whatever he can to achieve that goal, no matter what wrongs he has to commit. ]
